Dr. Maria Carlton, DC is 6th generation from Hardee County and feels blessed to be practicing in Wauchula since 2016. She has been in private chiropractic practice for over 25+ years. She practiced in Bradenton for 15 years. Dr. Carlton has one daughter, Chloe and is married to Jimmy Papa of Bradenton.

Dr. Carlton graduated from Hardee High School in 1989. Go Wildcats! She then attended The University of Florida and earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Health Science. Her quest for exceptional chiropractic education took her to San Jose, California. She earned her Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Palmer College of Chiropractic-West.

Dr. Carlton utilizes various chiropractic techniques tailor fit to each individual patient including – Diversified technique, Activator instrument, Cox Flexion-Distraction, Thompson Drop technique and Decompression.

Dr. Carlton continues to provide very comprehensive chiropractic care in a comfortable environment. She treats patients during their pregnancy, infants, children and all ages of adults focusing on the entire family. While Dr. Carlton has witnessed chiropractic helping the body to heal itself, she refers to medical physicians regularly as appropriate. She is pleased that medical providers in the community refer patients to her as well. It is a priority to her to stay in communication with the medical providers when indicated to coordinate care and monitor progress. Dr. Carlton knows from her years of experience as a chiropractic physician that feeling better, moving better and functioning better is LIVING BETTER!
